Right after college I became an editor of textbooks for Christian schools. In 1987, I left full-time publishing work to get involved in Christian ministry to Russia. However, I still freelance both fiction and non-fiction in my spare time. In part, my writing helps to fund my missionary work.
Although writing is basically an "in-doors" activity, I always appreciate opportunities to get outside and try new experiences, which have included skydiving, mountain climbing, rappelling, canoeing, kayaking, wilderness hiking, white-water rafting, and a high-ropes course through tree tops, to name a few. I believe that all experiences in life provide fuel for a writer's imagination, and I like to gather as much fuel as I can.
Publications that have purchased my hundreds of articles and short fiction include Breakaway, Brio, Clubhouse, Horizons, Faith Detectives, Writer's Journal, In Touch, and various other newspapers and magazines, both in print and online. Other links on this site provide samples of my short writings and also of my novels.
My wife Pam and I currently live in Central Indiana. We have two adult children, Jessica and Josh.
